CRC MINISTRIES
Take a look at our diverse
&
growing ministry opportunities.
 LIFE GROUPS

Acts 2:46-48  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Life Groups are designed to help you know a smaller group of people within the church community that can journey with you through daily life.

Life Groups provide a safe place for you to process what God is doing in your life and challenges you to grow in your spiritual journey with Jesus.

Life Groups provide an opportunity for you to show others who Jesus is by serving and “sowing” in your local community. We strive to be a “Family on Mission”.

PICK A NIGHT THAT BEST FITS YOU!
CHILD CARE is available at the church for Sunday Night Life Groups starting at 5:45 pm.
*Childcare is not available at the church for Monday and Thursday night groups.
WHAT ARE D-GROUPS?
D-Groups are a group of 3 to 8 christ followers that covenant together for 4 to 6 months to develop their ability to hear and respond to God. The D-Group leader helps facilitate this process and is committed to your spiritual growth. We are not interested in just more information about God, but discipleship through obedience. We will follow the pattern of discipleship that is found in the Scriptures and provide information, tools, and a living example from which you can learn from. There are two major questions that we will wrestle with weekly as we come together; First, “What is God speaking to you”? Second, “How are you going to respond”?
OUR VISION
D-Groups are designed to give participants the opportunity to be discipled in a very intentional way. The vision however is not for you to just receive this experience, but it is to pass it along to others. We want to see people invested in so that they can disciple others. This is the only way the church can experience discipleship multiplication.

SESSIONS

Women’s Bible Study
led by Stacie Wilson

This semester we will be going through the study “Finding I Am” by Lysa Terkeurst. What is the deep cry of your heart? The ache in your soul that keeps you up at night? The prayer you keep repeating? Jesus not only cares about this deep, spiritual wrestling, but He also wants to step in and see you through it. Join Lysa Terkeurst on the streets of Israel to explore the seven I AM statements of Jesus found in the Gospel of John. Through this interactive in-depth study we will be trading feelings of emptiness and depletion for the fullness of knowing who Jesus is like never before. Cost for the workbook is $15.
John Bible Study
led by Frank Batten, Jr.

In John 15, Jesus says we should abide in Him, and He will abide in us. This was part of His instructions to the apostles on the night before He was crucified. We will study John chapters 13 through 17 to try understand how these teachings apply to us as followers of Jesus, with a special emphasis on what it means to abide in Christ.
Financial Peace
led by Jon Beattie

Financial Peace University is a nine-lesson, money-management class taught by America’s most trusted financial guru, Dave Ramsey. Dave and his teaching team will walk you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more. And now you can experience this life-changing class the way that’s best for you: with other people in a local group, online at your own pace or both! Register for FPU here!
A Christian View of Law & Government
led by Professor Brad Jacob

We live in a society in which “culture wars” can be bitter and unpleasant. Evangelical Christians clash with nonbelievers and with other Christians on issues such as religious liberty, sexuality & marriage, abortion, the role of government, immigration, and criminal justice. Does each of these conflicts have a specifically “Christian” approach and answer? How do we, as followers of Jesus, respond to those who view society through different lenses?
Racial Reconciliation
led by Kevin Vaughn

It can be daunting and scary to launch into the unknown abyss of racial conversations. It takes brave people to have courageous conversations. You may be like me, as you look around at the many racial divides, you want to do something. We have read the scriptures; we have prayed for unity. How do we, the body of Christ, walk out becoming one? How do the words in John 17 come alive and living in each of us? How does unity begin to permeate our entire being? How do we become light to a dark world that makes divisions on race? How does the body of Christ become a witness and a voice for race unity? The purpose of this discussion guide is to help get us unstuck. It is designed as step one in relational unity, through conversations that would lead to healing through racial reconciliation.
Relational Evangelism
led by Faith

God has called you to be a good news announcer! But how do you do it? Do you have to be a public speaker to share the gospel with your friends and co-workers? Not at all! Come learn how to spark spiritual discussions and announce the good news in ways that people want to hear it. Come be challenged to live your life out loud!

MERCY AND JUSTICE
MINISTRIES

MICAH 6:8

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

As we are individually restored by God’s love, we are called to serve the most vulnerable and marginalized in our city and world through the work of mercy and justice.

The confession of our faith is that we recognize our own brokenness and the need for Jesus to restore us and the world in which we live.  We believe that restoration of relationship with God and with others is the very essence of the gospel.

Journeyers,
a Sunday morning experience for your kids.

What to expect on a Sunday morning
Every Sunday morning there are volunteers ready to meet you and your child and help you check in before the service. The children’s wing of the church is located to the left once you walk through the main entrance into the cafe. Once checked in, infants through preschoolers will be taken to their designated classrooms where they will be warmly greeted at the classroom door by their teacher. For the 9 am service, (after the first set of worship songs), elementary aged children (Kindergarten-5th grade) will be dismissed to their children’s program and will be greeted by their teacher in the cafe just outside the sanctuary doors.

Curriculum

Journeyers Children’s ministry currently uses The Gospel Project®: The Big Picture of God’s Story

The Gospel Project® immerses kids, preschoolers, toddlers and babies in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the Gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the Gospel. Through The Gospel Project® children will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption.

BUDDY PROGRAM
FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
The buddy program at CrossRoads Church has been growing and developing for many years now and is a direct result of responding to needs within our church family.

We serve and care for children with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Volunteers serve as buddies to these children by pairing up with them on a Sunday morning during church and/or Monday evening during Living in Holland. Church staff members train and equip volunteers based on the child’s individual needs.
Do you have a child that has special needs?

We would love to serve and care for your family. Please fill out this form as it will allow us to better know and understand your child(s) specific needs. We will use this information to pair them with an adult and we may follow up with you to get more specific details.

The purpose of our Buddy Program is two-fold:

1. To help each child feel included, loved and valued, and to guide them to understand God’s message of unconditional love and forgiveness.

2. To provide support, encouragement, and fellowship for the families of those with special needs.

 Opportunities for families:

Living in Holland meets at the church the 4th Monday of every month from 7-8:45pm.

This is a group for Moms of children with special needs. These women meet together to share community and support. Childcare is provided for ALL children.

MOM’S GROUP

This semester we will be discussing How to Make it Count as a mother using a video series from Karen Stubbs. As moms we want a guarantee, but in life there are no guarantees.  You can do everything “right” as a mom, but in the end your child may choose a different path than what you had wanted for them. So, what are we to do as moms? Make it Count can help guide you and help you gain the right perspective for this crazy, wonderful journey of motherhood.  We will have coffee and brunch together, watch the video and have an engaging discussion each week.  Come and join us this Fall at Mom’s group to be encouraged and meet other moms in the church and community!

Mom’s Group meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday morning of the month, starting September 12th at 9:30 am. Childcare provided. Cost is $30.
